Welcome to Air Plus

  • When your air conditioner stops cooling, some of the possible problems include:
    • Tripped breakers,
    • Burnt wiring,
    • Corrosion of the unit,
    • Physical damage to the unit,
    • Freon leak,
    • Lack of maintenance,
    • Seized fan motor,
    • Ant hills inside the unit (we've seen it!).

    Some things to check:
    • Check that the air filter(s) is clean,
    • Check that the air filter grill is not obstructed,
    • Make sure that nothing being stored in the attic is crushing any air ducts,
    • Check that the area around the outdoor unit is clear of any vegetation, yard equipment, etc.

  • Don't forget that there is just as much air conditioning equipment inside the house as outside.
Although the outdoor unit is the most recognizable part of the air conditioner, there is just as much equipment inside, either in the attic or a closet.

When you call for service, be aware that the technician will need to enter the house in order to examine the indoor equipment.

Although we promote some visual inspection of the equipment by the homeowner, we do not recommend opening the equipment.
Air conditioning equipment is powered by high voltage (240 V), and inexperienced handling of the equipment can result in damage to the equipment or electrocution.
